ABOUT CHANNEL DESI Channel Desi is an independent British South Asian digital media platform founded by filmmaker, journalist and media producer Michael Tarat.
It exists to create useful, entertaining and culturally informed content about the experiences of Britain’s diverse South Asian communities.
Channel Desi will combine original films, interviews, journalism, archive material, social video and community participation to document both where our communities came from and where they are going.
Its first original project, Arrivals: Coventry’s Living Memories, is supported by Coventry City Council as part of Heritage Open Days 2026.
